It's crazy how emotional I started to feel towards the end of the race. I think my body was totally thrown off and didn't know how to react. Around mile 22 I got a massive blister on the bottom of my right foot and it hurt with every step and it hurt way worse to walk than it did to run, but I didn't have the energy to run for very long periods of time. I knew that I had to finish, it wasn't an option, there was no one to scoop me up and carry me home to the Gateway which was also the finish line.
I did it. I accomplished a marathon. It seems like so many people run marathons so they aren't that big of a deal, but until you have run one, no one can describe to you what it is really like.
This race went to benefit the Huntsman Cancer Institute

Congatulations on your marathon. I did my first one in January. You beat me by 3 minutes. Do another, the number of people that have done more than one is very small.
Again congrats, it's a big deal.
